Grant Meadows of the Brock Badgers men's rugby team has been recognized with a national honour.
The third-year back row has been named a Canadian University Men's Rugby Championship (CUMRC) Second-Team All-Canadian selection as announced on Thursday, Nov. 14.
"To be named to the CUMRC All-Canadian team is a great honour and one that Grant is very deserving of," said Head Coach Sean Medeiros.
Meadows led the Badgers in tries this season with seven including a single-game high of three against the Waterloo Warriors on Sept. 8.
The Richmond Hill native competed this past summer with the Canadian U20 National Team, playing in matches against the United States on June 1 and 6.
Medeiros spoke to the dedication from Meadows this season with the Badgers.
"His impact this year was tremendous for our program and to see him recognized nationally for his hard work and commitment is great".
The Sport Management major also had team highs in carries and line breaks and brought a tremendous work rate to a Badgers team that qualified for the Ontario Unviersity Athletics (OUA) playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.
