The Brock Badgers men's rugby team continues to shine, receiving two provincial honours.Â
The major award winners and all-stars for men's rugby were announced by Ontario University Athletics (OUA) on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Â
Both Grant Meadows and Koen Schroeder earned OUA First Team All-Star selections, highlighting their impact across the conference.Â
"We see firsthand every day how hard Grant and Koen work at their craft," said head coach Sean Medeiros. "It's great to see the league recognize them for their performance. Both are important pieces to this team both on and off the field."Â Â
Meadows, a dynamic eight-man, appeared in six total games for the Badgers, scoring three tries in the regular season and two in the playoffs. The Sport Management major was a threat on both sides of the ball, leading the team in carries, metres gained and turnovers won. Captaining the Badgers, Meadows set the standard for the team's set pieces, which were dominant throughout the season. This marks Meadows' third OUA First Team All-Star selection after earning the honour in both 2023 and 2024, and he was also named a Canadian University Men's Rugby Championship (CUMRC) Second-Team All-Canadian last season.

In his second year with the Badgers, Schroeder played six games across the regular season and playoffs, recording six line breaks. The Stoney Creek, Ont., native proved to be a difference-maker with the ball in his hand and in transition. He created several scoring opportunities for the Badgers due to his speed and balance as a runner and strength as a ball carrier. Along with his OUA all-star selection, Schroeder was named the Senior Provincial Player of the Year and invited to Rugby Canada's Senior Men's Sevens Camp, with both honours announced last month.
