The Brock Badgers men's lacrosse team won big on the road.
On Sunday, Sept. 15, the Badgers left LU Stadium in Sudbury holding a 20-1 victory over the Laurentian Voyageurs.
This capped off an undefeated weekend after the Badgers defeated the Nipissing Lakers 14-9 on Saturday, Sept. 14.
Fourth-year attack Jaden Patterson powered the Badgers with three goals and six assists, marking a dominant weekend where the Virgil, ON product finished with 16 points (five goals, 11 assists).
The Badgers started out quickly, putting up 12 goals in the first half while holding Laurentian scoreless.
Jack Parker, a first-year attack/midfielder, had a strong half, registering his first Canadian Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) hat trick.
Brock continued their scoring ways out of the halftime break, putting up eight more. Laurentian earnied their first goal of the game with 5:26 left to deny the shutout bid from Brock.
Second-year goalie Jaxon Longboat earned the start in net for the Badgers.
James Gowland and Matthew Labute each notched two goals and nine other Badgers scored one goal apiece.
Next, the Badgers host its home opener against the Western Mustangs on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. at Alumni Field. This will be a rematch of the Baggataway Cup semifinal from 2023 where the Mustangs were victorious by a score of 9-1.
