Tatum O'Connor helped end a 23-year drought for the Brock swimming program, medaling at the U SPORTS Championships for the first time since 2002. The second-year swimmer earned her first national medal of the weekend on Day 1 on Friday, March 7 as she finished the 50m backstroke event in a time of 27 seconds and 65 milliseconds to come in third. The next night on Saturday, March 8, O'Connor added to her medal haul, finishing the 100m backstroke in 1:00.31 to capture another national bronze medal. That same night, she narrowly missed out on another U SPORTS podium finish, taking home a fourth-place result in the 50m butterfly with a time of 27.40. O'Connor ends her outstanding season with three gold medals and one silver at the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Championships and two bronze medals at the U SPORTS Championships. For her efforts, she was named the Brock University Athlete of the Week three times.
