msoc2-UOIT
ST CATHARINES, Ont. – The Brock University men's soccer team (1-7-3 OUA) came away with a 4-3 victory over the UOIT Ridgebacks (1-9-1 OUA) at home on Saturday afternoon.

Brock would get on the board in the 10th minute, as Steven Lam (Brampton, Ont.) was able to finish off a well-executed play following a free kick close to the penalty area. The goal gave the Badgers an early 1-0 lead.

The lead would disappear 15 minutes later on Joe Vaz's first of two goals tying the game at one goal apiece.

Vaz's second goal would put the Ridgebacks up 2-1 just three minutes into the second half.

The Badgers were looking for a quick answer and got it from Omar Hamadi (Oakville, Ont.) in the 50th minute tying the game at two just two minutes after Brock fell behind.

Alex Cuccovillo would take back the lead for UOIT in the 61st minute finding his way through the defense to beat the Brock keeper.

The Badgers were not out of answers coming back again in the 67th minute to tie the game at two. Yan Ilic (Dundas, Ont.) would tie the game scoring his first goal of the campaign on a nice feed from Seosa Agbonwaneten (Brampton, Ont.).

Aaron Vasant (Mississauga, Ont.) came away with the game winner after a substitution midway through the second half put him on the field in perfect timing to finish off a nice set up from Sammy Orlando (Woodbridge, Ont.).

The Badgers held off a late push from the Ridgebacks to win their first of the season by the score of 4-3.

Brock will travel to Waterloo on Sunday afternoon to take on the Warriors (0-10-1 OUA) at 3:15pm.
