PREVIEWING THIS WEEKEND
The Brock Badgers men's soccer team kicks off their 2013 OUA campaign in Oshawa on Saturday against the UOIT Ridgebacks, before travelling to York University on Monday to battle the Lions in conference play. Brock has won three of their past five matches with the Ridgebacks, and played them to a draw the last time these two squads met. For the Labour Day matchup at York, Brock will be looking to snap a seven-game winless drought versus the Lions that dates back to 2009. 

THE BADGER SQUAD
- 10 players return for Brock this season, highlighted by seniors Erik Van Wissen and Jake Sweetzer and juniors Sam Orlando, Benjamin Haggith and Marcus Bernard.
- An impressive freshman class has dawned Badger colours for 2013, as 14 players are new to Brock

INDIVIDUAL BADGERS
- Junior Sam Orlando scored seven goals last season to lead Brock, following up on a freshman campaign where he netted five goals
- Between the pipes, Jake Sweetzer returns for a fourth season as goalkeeper
- Bawe Nsame, former U17 Canada player, will be a key additon to the Badgers midfield.
- Brothers Osa and Seosa Agbonwaneten will suit up alongside each other this season, with both having a reputation of being strong defenders. Seosa will make his OUA debut, while Osa started six games for Brock in 2012.
- Other key newcomers include forwards Fares Haik, Aaron Vasant, midfielders Peter Papadopoulos, Marco Paoletti, Tim Spisar and defender Cole Mcdonald

PROMISING PRESEASON
Brock defeated Trent 1-0 in their preseason opener last weekend at home, before pulling even with Sheridan College 2-2 in their second exhibition match. They ended the preseason with a 5-1 victory over the Niagara College Knights. Leading the Badgers in preseason scoring were Marcus Bernard and freshman Fares Haik who both added two. Sam Orlando, Erik Van Wissen and newcomers Marco Paoletti and Seosa Agbonwaneten all added single markers.
