ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – The Brock University men's soccer team (0-5-2 OUA) lost their fourth straight contest on Saturday afternoon by the score of 3-1 against the Western Mustangs (3-1-2 OUA).
On a sloppy day for Brock's homecoming, the Badgers got off to a rough start giving up the games first goal just two minutes into the first half.
Western's Christian Douglas got the Mustangs on the board and would come through with his second just 25 minutes later to take an early 2-0 advantage.
Brock was able to cut into the Western lead with a goal from freshman midfielder Aaron Vassant (Mississauga, Ont.) in the 43rd minute sending the teams into halftime with the Badgers trailing 2-1.
Filippo Iuliani picked up his first OUA goal in the 71st minute to put the game away for Western.
Sammy Orlando led all players with three shots on goal. Each strike came with solid force but the Western keeper came up big to pick up the win.
