ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – Facing the top team in the country, Brock's men's soccer team fell to 0-7-3 this season after dropping a 4-1 decision to the York Lions on Sunday. The loss puts Brock 8th in the OUA West Standings heading into next week.

York got on the scoreboard first, when Carlos Nogueira notched his first goal of the campaign at the 17-minute mark.

It didn't take long for the home squad to respond, as Sammy Orlando scored for the first time this season in the 31st minute. Orlando has led Brock in scoring the last two seasons.

Brock's Ben Haggith was sent off with a red card late in the first half, which was the first time in his career he has been ejected.

After a back-and-forth pace to open the second half, the Lions found their offensive touch in the 65th with Mark-Anthony Kaye's first of two eventual goals in the game. Nicolas Mejia added a marker of his own in the 90th minute to give York the 4-1 victory.

In net for Brock, Jake Sweetzer stopped five of nine shots.

Next week, the Badgers host UOIT on Saturday in a crucial conference home game, before traveling to Waterloo on Sunday to face the Warriors.
