KINGSTON, Ont. - The Brock University women's softball team opened with a 10-3 victory over the Ottawa GeeGees at the 2015 OIWFA Championships being held in Kingston.

Former National Jr. Team pitcher Shanna Wilson pitched a gem and sparked the Badgers offense with a three-run homer in the bottom of the first. She went 2-for-4 with four RBI.  Christina Watkins collected three hits going 3-for-4 with an RBI while Shayla Martin went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

"It was a very cold rainy afternoon, but we saw some strong defense and the girls stayed positive," said assistant coach Wil Parent. 

The Badgers close out pool play tomorow beginning with Carleton at 10:30 am and Laurier at 2:30 pm which will be streamed live on the OIWFA website.
