WATERLOO, Ont – The Brock University women's softball team (10-6) were on the road this Sunday versus the Laurier Golden Hawks splitting the doubleheader. In Game One they won 8-4, while losing Game Two 0-2, ending their five-game winning streak.
In Game One, the Badger's offense put on a hitting clinic scoring eight runs over seven innings.
Shanna Wilson (Peterborough, Ont.) went 2-for-4 registering an RBI on a solo home run. Tina Watkins (Ancaster, Ont.) also played well going 2-for-4 tallying four RBI and two doubles, while
Amanda Porciello (Uxbridge, Ont.) went 2-for-4.
In Game Two, the Badgers pitching and defense proved solid only allowing two runs.
Wilson would pitch this game for the Badgers, allowing seven hits while striking out three over seven innings.
Alanah Doyle (Jarvis, Ont.), Watkins, and Wilson would lead the batting, registering a combined 5-for-7 but could not manage to get on the scoreboard.
The Badgers return to action next week for a four game road trip where they will face the University of Toronto on Friday (5pm and 7pm) and the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday (2pm and 4pm).
