
ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University men's soccer team lost to the No. 7 ranked Guelph Gryphons by the score of 3-1 Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.
The Badgers opened the scoring in the 13th minute as
Arsen Platis (Stoney Creek, ON) scored on a penalty shot beating Guelph starting goalkeeper Simon Norgrove for the 1-0 lead.
The Gryphons answered back with two goals in the 31st and 42nd minutes. Jace Kotsopoulos added his 14th goal of the season while Youssef Zaghoul collected his fourth goal of the campaign.
Guelph added an insurance marker in the 74th minute on a goal from William Grant.
Brock starter
Matt Zaikos (Markham, ON) recorded three saves in the loss. Norgrove and Brayden Taylor combined for four saves in the victory.
The Badgers take on the No. 3 ranked York Lions Sunday afternoon in Toronto.
