First loss for Brock men's soccer team

The Brock men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season by a score of 3-0 to the No. 4 York Lions in Toronto on Sunday.

"Our guys battled well and never quit," said head coach Lucio Ianiero. "We made two mistakes and they capitalized. They are a very good team and are extremely technical and fast on transition."

York outshot Brock 8-2 as goalkeeper Sean Darracott May made four saves.

Badgers centre midfielder Michael Fernandez and striker Sebastian Agudo each recorded a shot.

For the Lions, Merci Yuma, Christian Cavallini and Soji Olatoye each scored a goal in the first half, and edged Brock in corners 3-2.

York committed seven fouls while Brock only fouled twice.

Up next, the Badgers (2-1-2) travel to Western on Sept. 21 and Windsor Sept. 22. Both games start at 3:15 p.m.
