The Brock men's soccer team narrowly tied the winless Algoma Thunderbirds in Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday.
The Badgers will get a second shot at the T-Birds in the second leg of their back-to-back series on Sunday.
"This was the worst game we played," said head coach Lucio Ianiero. "Algoma has confidence now and we should have beat them based on talent alone, but credit to them. They outworked us."
Algoma took a 1-0 lead early in the game, but it wasn't until striker Jared Agyemang converted a feed from the midfield for his eighth goal of the season to tie the game, and to remain atop the OUA individual scoring leaders.
Brock outshot Algoma 8-7 and dominated corners 6-0.
Up next, the Badgers (3-2-3) take a second crack at the Thunderbirds on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m.
