Brock men's soccer team honours seven senior players

Box Score The Brock men's soccer team honoured its large group of senior players before their last home game of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) regular season on Friday, Oct. 29.

"This year, we celebrate another graduating class of Badger soccer players. It is my honour and privilege to recognize these seven men for their dedication and service towards this program," said head coach Erik Van Wissen. "Each one has made a lasting impact within the team, and we wish them nothing but success as they enter this next chapter in their lives. Once a Badger, always a Badger."

The Badgers celebrated their senior student-athletes inside the confines of Ian Beddis Gymnasium as inclement weather moved the ceremony indoors as friends and family made the trip to honour captain Andrew Baldin, Matthew Wnukowski, Alejandro Puentes, Jaden Nearing-Rampersad, Lucas Mastromattei, Maxwell Kensett and Alex Wallace.

Brock lost 2-1 to Waterloo during a rain-filled match at Alumni Field. Brock striker Michael Solomon tied the game up 1-1 in the second half before Waterloo found the winner with 12 minutes remaining.

Next, the Badgers (2-6-1) wrap up their regular season on the road in Waterloo versus the Warriors (5-2-2) on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 3:15 p.m.
