ST CATHARINES - Concluding their OUS regular season schedule. the Brock Badgers softball team split their final doubleheader with McMaster on Saturday, dropping the opening contest 12-8 before bouncing back with a 10-7 victory.
The Badgers finish the regular season in second place in the OUS West division holding a record of 15-3. With the top four teams from both the east and west qualifying for the OUS Championship in Waterloo next weekend, Brock will look to improve on their provincial bronze from a year ago.
GAME 1: McMaster 12 Brock 8
Despite outhitting the Marauders 15-10 in the opening game of the Saturday doubleheader, the Badgers were undone by a wild fourth inning which saw McMaster score seven runs to pull away for the win. Brock first base
Tanis Drover had a terrific day at the plate going 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run. Fellow infielder
Faith Westman was also strong in the batter's box recording a double and a triple on a 2-for-5 outing, adding two RBI and two runs.

Megan Morrow combined for eight strikeouts in the pitching circle for Brock
GAME 2: Brock 10 McMaster 7
Bouncing back in the second game of the day Brock converted 10 hits into 10 runs, highlighted by a nine run third inning. Another infielder stepping up to the plate for the Badgers,
Gabrielle Panth went 2-for-2 in the win, notching an RBI and two runs. Seven Brock players in total registered an RBI with
Isabella Miller joining Panth as a duo with two RBI in the game.
Reagan Lalande picked up the win in the pitching circle going four innings, while Morrow appeared in relief once again.
As the OUS regular season comes to a close the OUS Championship schedule will be updated early in the week. Teams will head to Waterloo this coming weekend as the provincial championship will be hosted by Laurier from Oct. 22-23.
