GUELPH - A busy weekend away, the Brock Badgers women's softball team won five of six games to improve their season record to 12-2.
Playing doubleheaders on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the Badgers outscored their opponents 48-15 over the six games played.
BROCK @ WATERLOO
GAME 1: Brock 8 Waterloo 1
Carrying a 1-1 tie into the final two innings, the Badgers offence exploded en route to seven runs scored over the sixth and seventh innings.
Alexis Simpson went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple, scoring a game-high four RBI and two runs. Meanwhile,
Haleigh Wilson continued her strong play in the pitching circle for Brock going six solid innings with three strikeouts, while allowing just two hits.
GAME 2: Brock 7 Waterloo 6
In a much more competitive contest, Brock delivered a walk off victory by scoring two runs in the seventh inning to secure the win. After contributing with her pitching performance in the first game, Wilson then added a 2-for-3 outing at the plate, registering three RBI and a run for the Badgers.
Tanis Drover added two RBI, while
Gabrielle Panth recorded one to round out the scoring for Brock.
BROCK @ LAURIER
GAME 1: Brock 14 Laurier 1
A dominant start to their Saturday, the Badgers needed only four innings of work to secure the win as nine Brock batters recorded an RBI in the offensive showcase.
Emily Hughes and
Emily Campbell led the way with the former going 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs, while the latter recorded a 2-for-3 day with two RBI and two runs. Wilson picked up the win in the pitching circle going two innings, while conceding just two hits, one walk, and one unearned run.
GAME 2: Laurier 3 Brock 0
Following the impressive opening victory on Saturday, Laurier bounced back to shut out the Badgers. Campbell went six innings as the starting pitcher for the Badgers, striking out five Laurier batters, while giving up three hits, four walks, and three unearned runs. In the batter's box, only
Holly Hanchiruk had a read on Laurier pitching, finishing the game 3-for-3 as one of only three Brock players to record a hit.

GAME 1: Brock 13 Guelph 4
Returning to form as they concluded the busy weekend in Guelph, Brock scored 10 runs between the third and fourth innings to reach double-digits for the second time in the weekend of action. Wilson pitched all five innings of the win striking out four and giving up six hits with three earned runs, while also chipping in offensively with an RBI triple. Eight Brock batters in total registered an RBI led by
Kaitlyn Hickey's 2-for-4, one walk, two RBI, one run stat line. Panth and Campbell also recorded two RBI each.
GAME 2: Brock 8 Guelph 0
Reagan Lalande earned the shut out win for the Badgers pitching five complete innings with two strikeouts and just three hits and one walk conceded. Meanwhile, seven Brock batters recorded a hit with Hickey, Hanchiruk, and Drover registering two hits apiece.
Brock returns home to Lancaster Park for their home finale on Friday, Oct. 7. Welcoming the Laurier Golden Hawks, first pitch of each game in the doubleheader is scheduled for 7 and 9 PM.
