ST CATHARINES - In their final home doubleheader of the OUS regular season, the Brock Badgers softball team earned two wins over the visiting Laurier Golden Hawks, 12-5 and 15-7, on Friday night at Lancaster Park.

As well, prior to the start of the Friday night contests the Badgers honoured their graduating senior's Emily Campbell, Emily Harron, Briana Norlock, Holly Hanchiruk, Haleigh Wilson, and Kaitlyn Hickey in s special pre-game ceremony.  

GAME 1: Brock 12 Laurier 5

Scoring nine runs between the third and fifth innings, the Badgers made quick work of Laurier in the opening game of the doubleheader. Along with Hickey, who was honoured in the pre-game ceremony, Faith Westman and Isabella Miller each had two RBI accounting for six of the 12 Badgers runs scored between the trio. Megan Morrow was also strong in the pitching circle earning the win after five innings of work, striking out four, while giving up just three hits and one unearned run.

GAME 2: Brock 15 Laurier 7

A more competitive contest through the first six innings, it was a six run seventh innings that sealed the victory for Brock, improving their record to 14-2 to rank second in the OUS West division. Another graduating senior shined in the victory as Hanchiruk went 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. Tanis Drover also impressed in the batter's box with a 4-for-6 outing scoring three RBI and two runs. Brock athlete of the week Wilson earned the win going five innings while allowing seven hits and three earned runs.

Brock concludes their regular season schedule on the road with a doubleheader in Hamilton against the McMaster Marauders on Saturday, Oct. 15. First pitch for each game is scheduled for 2 and 4 p.m.
