Hanchiruk highlights Badgers offense in four win weekend

ST. CATHARINES - Despite a rain postponement in the final series of the weekend, the Brock Badgers women's softball team continued their dominance over their OUS competitors picking up back-to-back series wins in a busy weekend at home.

Led by the hot bat of Holly Hanchiruk, Brock picked up 3-2 and 10-0 victories over Guelph on Friday before adding 4-2 and 10-3 wins over Windsor on Saturday. The final doubleheader of the weekend versus Western was postponed due to inclement weather and will be rescheduled at a later date.

In a tightly contested opener starting pitcher Megan Morrow was outstanding for the Badgers going 5.1 innings with seven strikeouts, while conceding just one run from four hits and a walk. Hanchiruk, Isabella Miller and Faith Westman recorded the RBIs for Brock in the win.

GAME 2: Brock 10 Guelph 0

An explosion of offence, the Badgers scored all 10 runs in a matter of just three innings including a five run third.
