The Brock Badgers women's track and field team took part in the York Holiday Open on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Toronto Track & Field Centre.
Headlining the Badger's achievements on the weekend was Sarah Saldutto who recorded a successful 5.93-metre attempt in the long jump, finishing second among all contestants. The result lands Saldutto second in U SPORTS rankings for long jump as well, placing 2 centimetres above the U SPORTS auto standard.
On top of her long jump finish, Saldutto placed first in the 60m qualifying heat with a time of seven seconds and 74 milliseconds but did not compete in the final. This performance puts her fourth in the country.
Maya Prescott-Clyne placed third in the same race with a time of 7.85 in the prelims.
Ciara Clifton and Sofia Aljourmi placed second and third, respectively, with times of 42.47 and 43.29 in the 300m race.
Competing against her Badgers' teammates, Adeline Steiger finished first in the 1500m event with a time of 4:50.54 while Ruby Neumann placed first the 60m hurdles in a time of 9.68. In the 1000m race, Jolanta Clark was first among four participants, recording a time of 3:20.2.
In the field, Megan Jaques earned two first-place finishes; one for shot put (4.00kg) with an 11.04m showing and the other for the weight throw (20lbs) with a result of 12.67m.
Jonathan Younker made his head coaching debut for the Badgers at this event.
