The Brock Badgers softball team played two close games against the York Lions in their doubleheader at Lancaster Park.  

Brock came away with a 6-5 win in the opening game of the doubleheader, while York took the second contest 6-5 on Sunday, Sept. 8. The two games came down to the wire as extra innings were needed for both.

Game 1: Brock 6 – York 5 (eight innings) 

In the opening game, Brock walked it off against York thanks to a sacrifice flyout from Emma Andres. 

The Badgers controlled the play early, shutting out York in the first five innings and having four runs scored of their own.  

York stormed back late to take the lead, but a double from Brielle Greenslade combined with an Andres' sacrifice fly gave Brock the walk-off win in the first game of the doubleheader.  

Tanis Drover led Brock with two runs batted in as the hosts put up 12 total hits in the victory.  

Reagan Lalande took to the mound for the Badgers, giving up four earned runs over eight innings with four batters walked.  

Game 2: Brock 5 – York 6 (eight innings) 

The second game was another close contest with the York Lions winning with a walk-off of their own over the Brock Badgers. 

The Badgers took a commanding 4-0 lead early off a home run from Greenslade before the Lions equalized the score by the fourth inning.  

Brock took a 5-4 lead late in the game but it was York's turn for a late rally. The Lions scored a run in both the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings to earn the win. 

Greenslade's three runs batted in led the Badgers with Aleksandra Ruksenas also providing an RBI.  

Emma Poulton earned the start for the Badgers going the distance. Poulton gave up just one earned run and walked three batters. 

Next, the Brock Badgers softball team host the Windsor Lancers at Lancaster Park for a doubleheader on Friday, Sept. 13. The first game will start at 7 p.m. and game two will begin at 9 p.m. or at the conclusion of Game 1.
