The Brock women's track and field team got out a strong start in the first competition of 2025.
Adeline Steiger led the Badgers' results as they competed against other clubs and schools at the Sharon Anderson Meet at the Bruce Kidd Field House on Saturday, Jan. 4.
For the second time this season, Steiger placed first in an event on the track. The third-year distance runner placed first in the 1000-metre race in a time of three minutes, two seconds and 56 milliseconds and now sits second all time in Brock's history for that event. In the same race, Hailee Masse finished third (3:05.97).
Sarah Saldutto showed her versatility, placing second in both the 60m hurdles (8.77) and long jump (5.68m).
In the triple jump event, the Badgers earned another top-three result as Olivia Mark completed a successful attempt of 10.93m to place third. She set a Brock record in the event with that showing while Sajini Ganeshamurthi now ranks second all time after delivering a jump of 10.58m.
Staying in the field events, Jaques took home two third-place finishes in the shot put (10.94m) and weight throw (12.28m).
Faridah Ramos rounded out the top Badgers' results with a fifth-place showing in the high jump (1.45m).
The Badgers were the only team who competed in the 4x400 relay event and this finish was not taken into account for the total of seven top-three finishes at the meet.
Up next, the Badgers travel to Windsor to compete at the Can-Am Classic on Friday, Jan. 10 and Saturday, Jan. 11 in Windsor.
