The 1998-99 Brock Badgers men’s wrestling team was the catalyst for one of the most successful periods in school and program history, marking the fifth of 16 straight OUAA/OUA championships and the beginning of a streak of 10 consecutive provincial and national titles. 

At the OUA Championships, the Badgers won their sixth banner as seven wrestlers captured gold medals and two earned silver. The team earned nine medals, including four gold, three silver and two bronze at the CIAU Championships as they won their fourth national title. 

Richard DesChatelets and Marty Calder were recognized as CIAU Men’s Coaches of the Year, while Josh De Heus captured the Brock Male Athlete of the Year award. The men’s wrestling team was also honoured as Brock’s Team of the Year and received both the Wyatt Earp Memorial Magnum and the President’s Cup.
