Mike Pelino - Builder (1987-97)

Mike Pelino, a native of Welland, Ontario, was the head coach of the Brock men’s hockey program from 1987-1997, Pelino is the winningest coach in Brock men’s hockey history. He guided his teams to 106 career victories, which included the top two seasons in school history; 17-8-1 (1994-95) and 16-9-1 (1988-89.). He was named three times as OUA West Coach of the Year (1987-88, 1988-89, 1994-95). Pelino went on to coach with Hockey Canada for four years, coaching at various levels of international competition. During his tenure with Team Canada, Pelino captured 11 gold medals, most notably at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, where he served as assistant coach. In his most recent coaching work with Team Canada, Pelino was an assistant coach for the country's gold medal-winning entry at the 2004 World Championships in Prague, Czech Republic, and the 2003 gold medal-winning squad in Finland. He is currently an Assistant Coach with the New York Rangers.
