Iain Brambell was on the Brock rowing team from 1993-1997.  

At Brock, he was named Oarsman of the Year twice in 1994-95 and 1995-96 and was a key member of two Canadian University Rowing Championship titles.   

As a member of the Canadian national team from 1994-2008, Brambell competed in three Olympic Games (2000 – Sydney, 2004 – Athens, 2008 – Beijing) and made eight world championship appearances. He earned a bronze in the men’s lightweight four event at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.   

In his career, he made the podium six times at the World Rowing Cup and won six national rowing titles. At the 2002 World Rowing Championships, he claimed a bronze medal in the men’s lightweight four.   

Brambell has given back to the athletic community by spending time as a member of the Canadian Olympic Committee Athletes' Commission from 2001-2010 (Chair 2005-2010) and on the Canadian Olympic Committee Board of Directors from 2005-2010.   

He spent three Olympic Games (2010 – Vancouver, 2016 – Rio, 2020 – Tokyo) as Technical Support and a Team Leader for Team Canada and most recently was a Team Leader for the Australian Olympic team at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
