Al Pedler - Builder (1970-93)

Al Pedler, a native of Hamilton, Ontario, was the first head coach of the Brock Track and Field / Cross Country programs from 1970-93, Pedler ran numerous events for Brock including the Alfie’s 10K run and 1974 Canadian Cross Country Championships. He took the Brock team to England and California where they were very successful in their competitive invitational events. He coached three current Hall of Famers; Bryan Stride, Kathy Pierce and Margaret Hendershot. He worked at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal and as a competitive runner, ran the Boston Marathon three times.
