Andrew Tinnish hitting a ballAndrew Tinnish played five seasons for the Brock Badgers baseball team and is widely regarded as one of the top players in program history. He graduated from Brock with a Bachelor of Recreation and Leisure in 1999 and a Bachelor of Sport Management in 2001.

A member of Brock’s inaugural baseball team, Tinnish helped lay the foundation for the program’s success, leading the Badgers to back-to-back national championships in 1998 and 1999.

In 1998, he was named the Canadian Intercollegiate Baseball Association (CIBA) Championship MVP, a CIBA All-Canadian and Brock baseball’s Most Valuable Player. He followed that performance in 1999 by earning CIBA Top Hitter honours, another All-Canadian selection and both Brock’s Male Athlete of the Year and team MVP awards. The Badgers were also named Brock Team of the Year and received the President’s Cup.

Tinnish’s influence has extended far beyond his playing career. After beginning as an intern with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2001, he rose through the organization into key scouting and leadership roles, becoming Assistant General Manager in 2012. He currently serves as Vice President of International Scouting and Baseball Operations, playing an integral part in the club’s sustained success, including six playoff appearances and a berth in the 2025 World Series.
