Kathy Dingley (Richardson) - Swimming (1982-1984)
Kathy Dingley (Richardson) was a member of the women's swimming team from 1982-84. Prior to joining the Badgers, Dingley was a member of the Canadian Olympic Team and a National Champion in the 400m Individual Medley (1980). Dingley was a standout in the pool breaking multiple OWIAA and CIAU records in her time with the Badgers. In 1982, Dingley set three OWIAA records en route to first place finishes in the 200m and 400m Individual Medley, as well as the 200m Breaststroke. She would go on to compete at the CIAU's where she broke CIAU records in the 400m Individual Medley and 200m Breaststroke. That same year, Dingley competed at the 1982 Commonwealth Games bringing home a bronze medal in the 200m Breaststroke. The following year, Dingley was able to continue her dominance in the OWIAA by winning the 400m and 800m Freestyle, and the 800m Free Relay (set records in 400m Free and 800m Relay). In 1983, she would also win a gold medal in the 400m Individual Medley at the Pan Pacific Championships. In her final year with Brock, Dingley was a OWIAA Champion in the 800m Free, 200m Backstroke, 400m Individual Medley, and 400m Medley Relay (records in 400m IM and 400m Medley Relay). At the CIAU's, Dingley took home first place in the 400m and 800m Free, 400m Medley Relay, and 400m Individual Medley. Dingley was named a CIAU Outstanding Swimmer in 1983 and 1984.
