Paul Ragusa HOF picturePaul Ragusa was an accomplished wrestler who medalled for two different university teams. Ragusa spent four seasons with the McMaster Marauders before attending Brock University in 1998-99 to complete a Bachelor of Education.

In his five years competing at the university level, Ragusa swept gold at every provincial and national
championship he entered, becoming the first wrestler to win five OUAA/OUA and CIAU gold medals. In his lone season with the Badgers, he helped the team capture both an OUA and a CIAU title.

Spending over 10 years with the Canadian national team, Ragusa’s time was highlighted by an appearance at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games where he competed in men’s freestyle wrestling. He has medalled at
other international events, including the Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games and World Cup.

Ragusa was inducted into the McMaster Marauders Hall of Fame in 2009 and later in his hometown of Kingston, Ontario in their Hall of Fame in 2017.

A six-time Petro Canada Coaching Excellence Award winner, Ragusa has played a key role as a coach for the Canadian national team, coaching two Olympic champions and eight athletes to medals at numerous World
Championships.
