Sandy Chapman competed with the Brock Badgers men’s lacrosse team from 2000-05, earning a Bachelor of Health Sciences in 2005 and a Master of Health Sciences in 2009.
A key midfielder, Chapman helped lead the Badgers to four Baggataway Cup titles, playing a central role in one of the most successful eras in program history. His standout 2004 season saw him named the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) West Division Player of the Year and the team’s Most Valuable Player.
Following his time at Brock, Chapman enjoyed a remarkable 17-year National Lacrosse League (NLL) career, appearing in 283 games and recording 166 points (40 goals, 126 assists) along with 1,149 loose balls. Selected 12th overall by the Toronto Rock in 2001, he captured four NLL championships with the franchise (2002, 2003, 2005, 2011) and another with the Rochester Knighthawks in 2007. In 2010, he was recognized as the NLL Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-Pro.
Beyond the NLL, Chapman won three Mann Cup championships with the Brampton Excelsiors and represented Canada internationally, earning gold at the 2011 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships.
His accomplishments have led to induction into the Toronto Rock Hall of Fame (2019) and the Halton Hills Sports Hall of Fame (2022), along with a nomination for the NLL Hall of Fame in 2021.
Today, Chapman continues to contribute to the game through coaching, carrying forward the work ethic and team-first approach that characterized his career.
